Mining activity
Cement and concrete production requires large quantities of natural and recycled raw materials and, as such, implies a judicious use of the resources of the territories where our mining activities are operated. Raw materials are present in natural reserves and deposits and then mined for the production of cement or as inert materials for the production of concrete. Every aspect of the environment and of the deposit itself must be thoroughly examined, and the mining operations must be prepared and implemented in accordance with stringent environmental, social and industrial efficiency criteria.
In order to optimize the use of these resources, the mining activity must undergo a preliminary assessment of the environmental impacts and how they can be minimized during the entire life cycle of the operations. This assessment also includes drafting up a mining plan that is in alignment with the site restoration plan right from the outset, and the involvement of stakeholders by listening to and assessing the needs of the territory and local communities.
