On Saturday 20th May, the Buzzi Unicem plant in Barletta will open its doors to young people from schools as part of the "Porte Aperte" promoted by Federbeton Confindustria - the Federation that represents the cement and concrete supply chain - to make the communities aware of Made in Italy at the base of the buildings.

Eight classes from the third year of the Istituto Tecnico Economico e Tecnologico Cassandro Fermi Nervi (112 students) and four from the fourth and fifth year of the Ipsia Archimede (50 students from the Manutenzione e Assistenza tecnica specialization) have booked their visit: the students will visit the plant and will learn more about the cement production cycle, the theme of quarries and environmental restoration, as well as safety in the workplace.
Spotlight on innovations and materials involved in the production of a precious commodity for progress such as cement, whose supply chain employs over 34,000 people in Italy.

By reserving the "Porte Aperte" space for schools, Buzzi Unicem confirms its sensitivity for the young protagonists of the community: kids who live the Sustainability issues and who will soon have to make important choices for their future.

Federbeton's "Porte Aperte" began on the first weekend of May (also inaugurated by the Buzzi Unicem plant in Monselice, in the province of Padova) and will continue throughout the month: the last stop next week in Siniscola (Nuoro), again with the involvement of local schools.
